About CCG Index

CCG Index is a price tracking and indexing platform for sealed trading card game products. The site provides aggregate price benchmarks across product categories — booster boxes, collector booster cases, bundles, prerelease packs, Secret Lair drops, and dozens of other subcategories — for Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon TCG.

Why it exists

Sealed TCG product is a real, large, and rapidly-moving secondary market, but the data tools for collectors and investors haven't kept up. Most sealed collectors end up maintaining spreadsheets of TCGPlayer URLs and manually checking prices once a week. CCG Index exists to answer two questions that come up constantly in that workflow:

  • "Is this product category appreciating or depreciating right now?"
  • "Which specific products are driving the move?"

What it tracks

Every index on the site is the cost of buying one of every tracked product in that category — a "one-of-each basket". Prices come from TCGPlayer, the primary US marketplace for sealed TCG product. Data is refreshed hourly and we keep a rolling history of every price tick so you can see 24-hour, 1-week, 1-month, and 1-year movement on any category or individual product.

What it's not

  • Not financial or investment advice. Past performance doesn't predict future returns, and sealed TCG product is a volatile, relatively illiquid market.
  • Not a marketplace. We don't sell anything. Outbound links go to TCGPlayer, eBay, and Amazon where you can buy the actual products.
  • Not a valuation tool for singles. We track sealed product only. Singles pricing is already well-served by TCGPlayer, Cardmarket, and others.

How it's funded

CCG Index is funded by affiliate commissions from the marketplaces we link to. When you click a "Buy on X" link (TCGPlayer, Mana Pool, or any other marketplace) and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. This lets us keep the site free and publicly accessible to everyone. Affiliate links are marked with the standard rel="sponsored" attribute.

About the builder

CCG Index is built by an independent collector who got tired of spreadsheets. The site is actively developed — if you have suggestions, corrections, or category rules you think are wrong, those are welcome.
